Dr. Shane Nho is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon and associate professor in the department of orthopedic surgery and co-director of the sports medicine fellowship program at Rush University Medical Center.

Awards & Accolades

Dr. Nho specializes in the treatment of hip, knee, shoulder, and sports-related injuries and maintains an active clinical practice, performing more than 700 procedures per year. He also serves as team physician for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Steel and DePaul University. Dr. Nho was also awarded the AOA-North American Traveling Fellowship which recognizes young leaders for their early contribution to orthopedics. Dr. Nho has been named by his peers one of the “Best Doctors in America” by Castle Connolly, as well as being named to Chicago Best Doctor List by Chicago Magazine. He was also awarded the AANA Stephen J. Snyder, M.D. Arthroscopy Instructor Award in 2021 as well as AANA Grant Recipient in 2013, 2018, and 2021.

Education & Training

Dr. Nho earned his bachelor’s degree at the Northwestern University in 1998 before going on to earn his medical degree at the Rush Medical College of Rush University. He completed his orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, as well as fellowship for sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Nho also received the Herodicus Traveling Fellowship to complete further subspecialized training in the treatment of hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgery.
